DJI SDR Transmission 2 Gimbal Control Cable (USB-C to CAN)
A 40cm cable linking the SDR Transmission 2 Transceiver to a compatible RS stabiliser's CAN port, giving an operator wireless gimbal control through the DJI Ronin app rather than staying tethered to the gimbal itself. Force Mobile and virtual joystick modes drive pan, tilt and roll remotely once connected, and gimbal centring and camera triggering work from the same link. The gimbal also powers the transceiver through this connection, removing the need for a separate battery on that unit.
What It's For
Wireless gimbal control through the DJI Ronin app needs a physical data link between the transceiver and the gimbal's control system, this cable is that link over CAN bus rather than a standard USB-C data connection. An operator working a remote monitoring position, a car mount, or any setup where standing at the gimbal itself isn't practical gets pan, tilt, roll and camera trigger control from wherever the connected transceiver's receiver is positioned. Power draws from the gimbal to the transceiver over the same cable, one less battery to manage on a rig that's already carrying a camera and stabiliser.
Compatibility
Confirmed for the DJI RS 4 Pro, RS 4 and RS 3 Pro specifically, a narrower list than the general SDR Transmission 2 power compatibility (RS 5, Ronin 2 and Master Wheels included), since CAN gimbal control depends on the specific port and protocol each stabiliser supports. Checking a production's actual gimbal model against this list before ordering avoids a control cable with no CAN port to plug into on the rig it's going on.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this cable carry video, or only gimbal control?
Only gimbal control and power between the transceiver and the stabiliser. Video runs over the transceiver's own HDMI and transmission link, covered separately.
Will this work with my RS 3 or RS 2?
DJI lists this cable as compatible with the RS 4 Pro, RS 4 and RS 3 Pro specifically, not the earlier RS 3 or RS 2.
Does the transceiver still need its own battery with this cable connected?
No, power draws from the gimbal to the transceiver over this connection, removing the need for a separate NP-F battery or USB-C power source on that unit.
What app controls the gimbal once this is connected?
The DJI Ronin app, using Force Mobile or virtual joystick modes for remote pan, tilt and roll control plus camera triggering.
