DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo
DCI 4K/60fps 10-bit HDR video over a 4km link with latency as low as 35ms, letting a director, focus puller or client monitor a live feed from a separate camera position without a cable run between them. H.265 encoding holds bitrate up to 50Mbps across that distance, and one transmitter pairs to up to 8 receivers simultaneously for a multi-monitor video village on set.
What It's For
Each transceiver works as a transmitter or receiver interchangeably, giving a production the same pair of units for sending a feed from the camera and pulling it in at a monitor station rather than buying fixed-role hardware. Metadata transmission over SDI from ARRI and RED cameras carries lens and exposure data alongside the video, and PTP camera control plus CEC control for Sony cameras let an operator adjust camera settings from the receiving end rather than walking back to the camera itself. The expansion plate's SDI and extra USB-C ports suit a fixed monitor or video village setup, while the compact transceiver alone suits a car-mounted, FPV or handheld rig where every gram matters.
Compatibility
Powers directly from the DJI RS 5, RS 4 Pro, RS 4, RS 3 Pro, Ronin 2 and Master Wheels, useful for a gimbal operator who doesn't want a separate battery for the transmission unit. Also pairs with Osmo Action and Osmo Pocket devices over USB-C. Checking a production's actual camera and gimbal lineup against this list before ordering avoids a transmission system with no direct power path on the rig it's going on.

Is this a drone transmission system?
No. SDR Transmission 2 is DJI's camera and gimbal video transmission system, built for monitoring and camera control on set, it's a separate product line from the O3/O4 transmission used on DJI's drones.
Does each unit have a fixed role as transmitter or receiver?
No. Both units in the combo are identical transceivers, either one can send or receive, so the same pair covers a camera-to-monitor link without buying dedicated hardware for each end.
Can one transmitter feed more than one monitor?
Yes, up to 8 receivers from a single transmitter, useful for a video village with several monitoring stations watching the same feed.
Does it need the expansion plate to work?
No. The transceiver alone covers HDMI output and USB-C power or data; the expansion plate adds SDI and extra USB-C ports for a fixed monitoring setup, not required for basic use.
Can it run without NP-F batteries?
Yes, USB-C PD input (15V/9V, 3A) powers it directly, and it also draws power straight from a compatible DJI gimbal, RS 5, RS 4 Pro, RS 4, RS 3 Pro, Ronin 2 or Master Wheels, with no separate battery needed on that rig.
Does the 4km range hold in any environment?
DJI states up to 4km as the maximum figure; actual range on any wireless video link reduces with obstructions, interference and non-line-of-sight positioning, so treat it as a best-case figure for open-site work.
