How Renting Works
Choose your equipment. Pick the aircraft, payload, or ground control that matches your project.
Check availability. Call us to confirm your dates before booking, particularly for anything currently on Notify.
Reserve and pay. Complete the rental agreement and payment to secure your slot.
Collect or receive delivery. Pick up from our Chichester showroom, or have it delivered to your location.
Fly, then return. Use the equipment for your project and return it at the end of the rental period.
What's Included
Every rental includes everything needed to fly: batteries, controller, charging equipment, and a transport case. Thermal and mapping rentals include the relevant payload fitted and ready.
Need extra batteries for a longer job? The 3 x Matrice 4 Series Battery add-on extends your working day without waiting on a single set to recharge.
Registration, Training and Insurance
Registration. Every pilot flying a rented drone needs their own Flyer ID, obtained free via the CAA's online test. You'll also need to apply your own Operator ID to the aircraft once it arrives.
Training. For Matrice and enterprise rentals, the suggested route is our GVC Training Course, covering the Operational Authorisation most commercial work requires.
Insurance. A current insurance policy is required to rent. We recommend Coverdrone's short-term insurance, built specifically for temporary drone cover. When getting a quote, use "Drone Safe Register Ltd. (T/A Drone Safe Store)" as the hirer name. Coverdrone will issue a Statement of Fact, Policy Schedule, and Evidence of Cover, we need the Policy Schedule before dispatch.
ID verification. For higher-value enterprise rentals, we also require a copy of your passport or driving licence alongside a recent bank statement or utility bill matching the delivery address.
Which Rental Should You Choose?
For survey and mapping, the Zenmuse L3 delivers long-range LiDAR with survey-grade accuracy, and the D-RTK 3 Bundle adds the ground control positioning to match.
For thermal work, choose between the standalone H30T payload on a Matrice 400, the compact Matrice 4TD combo, or the lighter Mavic 3 Thermal for single-operator jobs.
For general enterprise work, the Matrice 400 is the flagship platform, and the Mavic 3 Enterprise or Matrice 4E suit lighter inspection and mapping.
For photography and video, the Mavic 3 Pro is the only non-enterprise option in the range, and remains a strong choice for high-end aerial content on a short-term basis.
